Bahamas Sees Growth Above 3% as Prices Rise
The Central Bank of The Bahamas forecasts 2026 growth above 3.0%, driven by stopover tourism, residential real estate investment and new hotel and cruise capacity, while import costs push inflation higher. Reserves were US$2,953.5 million at end-September.
Why it matters:Strong tourism-led growth and adequate reserves support the currency peg, but rising import costs, higher financing costs and elevated external risks bear on hotel, cruise, lending and investment decisions. (Positive development)
