Tourism officials court yachting industry following concerns of a slowed sector

A Ministry of Tourism delegation led by Minister Glenys Hanna-Martin met marine industry groups and yacht stakeholders at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, following revised cruising permit fees effective April 1. Charter bookings remain weak, and no further fee changes were announced.

Why it matters:Marinas and Bahamian businesses serving the charter market still face weak bookings despite revised permits, so ministry outreach and competitiveness measures bear directly on marine tourism recovery. (Neutral development)
